Sheep Breeder's Roundtable - 2019

Sheep Breeder's Roundtable a Huge Success

In November, Nottingham played host to the Sheep Breeder's Roundtable; a three day sheep genetics conference attracting over 170 industry delegates including farmers, breeding companies, levy boards, vets and academics from the UK and abroad.

The biennial Sheep Breeders Round Table is a collaboration between industry bodies with 2019 focusing on ‘becoming the best sheep industry in the world’. The conference included presentations from farmers working with levy boards to progress including Tim Dunn, Chairman of the North York Moors Swaledale Project (AHDB), Rhys Edwards, RamCompare project farmer (AHDB/HCC) and George Cullimore, Performance Recording Lleyn Breeders (AHDB).

The Sunday also featured a panel session involving progressive breeding groups – many of these clients of Signet Breeding Services. Presentations from the event, including AHDB papers, can be found here https://www.nationalsheep.org.uk/sbrt/ early feedback suggests the event was well received with many already looking forward to 2021’
